About Me

I was born in Lincoln, Nebraska, February 18th, 1966 to Ron and Margaret Dyer. We lived in Tecumseh, Nebraska until I was 11 years old when we moved to Franklin, Nebraska where our family grew to include three sisters (Melanie, Monica and Ashley) and one brother (Trevor). At Franklin Senior High School I participated in all sports, swing choir and band. Upon graduation, I attended Peru State College, where I graduated and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education. In the fall of 1989, I received a teaching position at Nebraska Public Schools. In my 20 years with the school district, I have taught junior and senior high health and elementary and high school physical education. I am currently teaching kindergarten through 2nd grade physical education at Northside Elementary School in Nebraska City. I was married July 26th, 2008 to Brian Gross. We have two cats named Tigger and Whitey. We love gardening, fishing, hunting, walking, camping and traveling. In the last year, we have been to Puerto Vallarta, Cabo San Lucas and Boston and the East coast. We are going to Cancun, Mexico in March 2010. Brian works for the United States Department of Agriculture in Iowa as the District Conservationist for the Natural Resources Conservation Service in both Fremont and Mills Counties. It is because of his knowledge and love for nature that I have come to appreciate the outdoors.

Welcome!!!

My name is Leslie Gross. I currently teach Physical Education at Northside Elementary School in Nebraska City, where I have recently completed my 20th year of teaching for the District.

Through my physical education activities, my goals for students are to: Improve competency in motor skills and movement patterns needed to perform a variety of physical activities. Achieve and maintain a health-enhancing level of physical fitness. Develop social skills and self-expression. Encourage participation in physical activities. I hope that in reviewing my blog you will discover the love that I have for teaching young students.

I created this blog for my graduate class at Peru State College (EDUC 552: Intoduction to Multimedia Authoring). I will be using this blog to post assignments and information for my course.

I am looking forward to seeing what you all are doing for this class. I also want to say (GO HUSKERS!!!) to any fan out there. I have season tickets to the games because my husband graduated from there. I will be in the 33rd row in the South end zone, just in case I make it on the television coverage;0)
